Achievements of Nikhil Singal Noble Trust

Nikhil Singal Noble Trust (Regd) was founded by Ludhiana-based "Eastman Impex Group" on 8-5-2008 to perpetuate the sweet memory of Late Nikhil Singal who withered away before he could bloom.

Since its inception, the Trust has been working for the benefit of poor & downtrodden people in the fields of Education, Medical, & vocational Training .

Educational Help

  • The Trust adopted 606 students (234 Girls & 372 Boys) from 117 schools after proper scrutiny of their financial & academic back ground. The performance of each student is regularly monitored. The Trust provided assistance to these students in the shape of Admission Fee, Tuition Fee for whole of the academic year, cost of stationery and/or books as warranted by the plight of each student.
  • To encourage meritorious students adopted by the Trust, 35 students of Nursery to V, who had secured 90% & above marks & 37 students from class VI to XI, who had secured 70% & above marks were given me
  • Counselling sessions were held in various schools motivating students and parents to excel in all fields particularly academics. The response was overwhelming as 72 prizes winners came with all vigour to attend the function and assured the counselling team to show excellent results.
  • Four brilliant students were helped to pursue their advance education in Computer Engineering, Chartered Accountancy, B.Com. & Electrical Engineering.
  • With active participation of this Trust a grand building of school named 'Shri Balaji Prem Ashram and Nikhil Vidyalaya' has been constructed on 1.0 Acre Land in Thakur Colony, Near Sterling Resorts, Pakhowal Road, Ludhiana. The school building was inaugurated on 13.04.2009 by Shri Kamal Oswal of M/s Nahar Group Of Industries and shri Vijay Chopra, Chief Editor of the Punjab Kesri Group of Newspapers in the esteemed presence of a host of other distinguished political, social and religious dignitaries. The school has started functioning from fourth week of 4/2009.

Vocational Training

  • Twenty Institutions were approached for providing vocational training in the field of computer operation, Dress making, beautician, lab. Technician, car Driving, Mechanics of Motor, Refrigerators, Air Conditioners etc. at Trust's cost so that the unskilled unemployed persons could get employment. Three persons including a widow took advantage of free vocational Training in Computer education.
  • The Trust also got Braille paper text Books prepared and distributed them free amongst blind students of vocational rehabilitation centre for Blinds.
  • Three Institutions namely Muskan Special School for Mentally Handicapped Children, Vocational Rehabilitation Training Centre (Regd.) for Blind, Mercy Cross approached us for financial assistance & suitable help was extended.

Medical Assistance

  • In the field of Medical assistance, The Trust provided assistance to various institutions i.e. CMC, DMC, Mohan Dai Oswal Cancer Hospital, Deepak Hospital, Deep Hospital etc. for the treatment of poor and destitute patients.
  • The Trust organized free medical check-up of assisted students by leading doctors in General health, Eyes & Dental ailments from 05-01-09 to 10-01-09. Wide publicity was given through schools to all the beneficiary students to appear before the designated doctors for medical checkup. 187 students appeared for general health checkup, 248 for eye-testing and 171 for dental check-up. Defects were reported in general health of 129 students, in eyes of 42 students and in dentures of 127 students. These ailments were got treated and spectacles supplied to 42 students free of cost.

  • 28 cases came for testing of Breast Cancer at Soin Diagnostic Centre & 7 cases were found positive.
  • A medicine centre 'EK UMEED' A Unit of "Nikhil Singal Noble Trust (Regd.)" was inaugurated at Civil Hospital on 07.02.2009 by Shri Dharam Pal Gupta, Patron of the Trust for providing medicines free of cost to all in-patients who generally come from the poor, deprived and un-privileged families. The Trust has the satisfaction of supplying medicines free of cost to all inpatients. In Civil Hospital, from April to October, 2009, 1621 indoor patients were given free medical assistance.
  • Free supply of Anti-Rabbies vaccines to Dog-bite cases coming to the LM Civil Hospital, Ludhiana for treatment has also been taken up by 'Ek Umeed' to ameliorate the sufferings of the poverty-stricken people. In a period of during April to October-2009, 280 patients have been supplied vaccines free of cost. This act of The Trust has gone down well with the suffering humanity.

Founder's Day Celebration

  • Founder's Day was celebrated on 23.05.2009 at Guru Nanak Bhawan in the presence of Deputy Commissioner, Sh. Vikas Garg, Additional DGP Punjab-Sh. H.R. Chadha, 400 students alongwith their parents attended the function. Heavy snacks were served to all the participants and the function was well applauded.
